After You Have Suffered A While
After reading this Bible
study, one might wonder, Do I really want to follow this Jesus?
Do I Really want to be a Christian? You know the Ole saying, "If
it was easy everyone would be doing it". That just may apply
here. The deeper you get into God's Word, the more strange
you'll become to the world and even to some Christians. But, the
deeper you go, the better the feeling and more assurance you'll
have. When you become a follower of Christ, don't expect all to
be peaches and cream.
I've added very little comments and mainly
just listed some verses in the Bible that contain the words
suffer, suffering, affliction, afflicted, and tribulation.
1 Pet 5:10 But the God of all
grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus,
after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish,
strengthen, settle you.
Let's look at the verses just before this.
1 Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as
a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Here, Satan is trying to
imitate Jesus, The True Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep
not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of
Juda, the Root of David, hath

thereof. Satan will
try to close your eyes so you can't understand the seals.

the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in
your brethren that are in the world.

After we've suffered a
while? What then? Joint-heirs with Christ. Eternal life. Life indescribable, as the next
four verses indicate.

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto
more ungodliness.
