this letter
To the church of the
Thessalonians
2 Th 1:1 Paul, and Silvanus, and
Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Th 1:2 Grace unto you, and
peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Th 1:3 We are bound to thank God
always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith
groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward
each other aboundeth;
Patience and faith thru
persecutions and tribulations
2 Th 1:4 So that we ourselves
glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in
all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
Here Paul is again praising the
Thessalonians for their good work in the Lord.
Luke 21:19
In your patience possess ye your
souls.
Why persecution and tribulations?
2 Th 1:5 Which is a
manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be
counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
2 Th 1:6 Seeing it is a
righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that
trouble you;
God will repay.
Deu 32:35 To me belongeth
vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due
time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things
that shall come upon them make haste.
Rest at the second coming
of Jesus
2 Th 1:7 And to you who are
troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from
heaven with his mighty angels,
Here again Paul is talking of the second coming of Christ.
In flaming fire taking
vengeance
2 Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking
vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the
gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
This is what will happen to the enemies
of God.
2 Th 1:9 Who shall be punished
with everlasting[1] destruction[2] from the presence of the Lord,
and from the glory of his power;
1
"EVERLASTING": 166. aionios, ahee-o'-nee-os; from G165;
perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as
well):--eternal, for ever, everlasting, world (began).
2
"DESTRUCTION": 3639. olethros, ol'-eth-ros; from a prim.
ollumi (to destroy; a prol. form); ruin, i.e. death,
punishment:--destruction.
Does this sound like just some mere
punishment of having to be away from God? No, it is death, to a
soul.
Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved,
avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it
is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the
Lord.
Rev 6:16 And said to the
mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of
him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the
Lamb:
Rev 6:17 For the great day
of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Jesus, at His second coming,
will be greatly admired and wondered at
2 Th 1:10 When he shall come to be
glorified in his saints, and to be admired[1] in all them that
believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that
day.
1
"ADMIRED": 2296. thaumazo, thou-mad'-zo; from G2295;
to
wonder; by impl. to admire:--admire, have in admiration,
marvel, wonder.
Here again, the coming of the Lord
Jesus Christ. Note, the same power is good and soothing for
some, and punishment for others.
2 Th 1:11 Wherefore also we pray
always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this
calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness,
and the work of faith with power:
2 Th 1:12 That the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according
to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul clarifies the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
2 Th 2:1 Now we beseech you,
brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by
our gathering together unto him,
Now Paul starts to get real serious.
See my notes at John 21:23.
Gen 49:10 The sceptre shall
not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet,
until Shiloh[1] come; and unto him shall the gathering
of the people be.
1 "SHILOH": 7886.
Shiyloh, shee-lo'; from H7951; tranquil; Shiloh, an
epithet of the Messiah:--Shiloh.
One from the tribe of Judah
will always sit on the throne of Israel until Shiloh, (Jesus
Christ), come. And just where is that Monarchy today?
England.
Josh 18:1 And the whole
congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at
Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there.
And the land was subdued before them.
2 Th 2:2 That ye be not soon
shaken in mind, or be troubled[1], neither by spirit, nor by word,
nor by letter[2] as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
1
"TROUBLED": 2360. throeo, thro-eh'-o; from threomai (to
wail); to clamor, i.e. (by impl.) to frighten:--trouble.
2
"LETTER": 1992. epistole, ep-is-tol-ay'; from G1989; a
written message:--"epistle", letter.
In other words, this letter supersedes
any other communications or comments you may have received
prior. This, is how it shall be.
Jesus talking:
John 6:39 And this is the Father's will
which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should
lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last
day.
John 6:40
And this is the will of him that sent me,
that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may
have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the
last day.
Let no man, deceive you by any means!
A falling away
2 Th 2:3 Let no man deceive[1] you
by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come
a falling[2] away first[3], and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition[4];
1
"DECEIVE": 1818. exapatao, ex-ap-at-ah'-o; from G1537 and
G538; to seduce wholly:--beguile, deceive.
2
"FALLING": 646. apostasia, ap-os-tas-ee'-ah; fem. of the
same as G647; defection from truth (prop. the
state) ["apostasy"]:--falling away, forsake.
647. apostasion, ap-os-tas'-ee-on;
neut. of a (presumed) adj. from a der. of G868; prop.
something separative, i.e. (spec.)
868. aphistemi,
af-is'-tay-mee; from G575 and G2476; to remove, i.e. (act.)
instigate to revolt.; usually (reflex.) to desist,
desert, etc.:--depart, draw (fall) away, refrain,
withdraw self.
575. apo, apo'; a prim.
particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various
senses (of place, time, or relation; lit. or fig.):--(X
here-) after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space
of), for (-th), from, in, (out) of, off, (up-) on (-ce),
since, with. In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes
separation, departure, cessation, completion,
reversal, etc.
3
"FIRST": 4412. proton, pro'-ton; neut. of G4413 as adv.
(with or without G3588); firstly (in time, place, order, or
importance):--before, at the beginning, chiefly, (at, at the)
first (of all).
4
"PERDITION": 684. apoleia, ap-o'-li-a; from a presumed
der. of G622; ruin or loss (phys., spiritual or eternal):--damnable
(-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious
ways, waste.
622. apollumi, ap-ol'-loo-mee;
from G575 and the base of G3639; to destroy fully
(reflex. to perish, or lose), lit. or
fig.:--destroy, die, lose, mar, perish.
575. apo, apo'; a prim.
particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various
senses (of place, time, or relation; lit. or fig.):--(X
here-) after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space
of), for (-th), from, in, (out) of, off, (up-) on (-ce),
since, with. In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes
separation, departure, cessation, completion,
reversal, etc.
The big thing to look out for in the end time is deception.
The greatest deciever of all times is coming. Just like in the
Garden Of Eden. As Satan, (the old serpent), deceived Eve, he's
coming to tempt and deceive the whole world population. Will he
and his angels repeat what they did in The Garden Of Eden and
just prior to Noah's flood.? See Gen 3:1 thru Gen 3:16
and Gen 6:1 thru Gen 6:4. Note the word perdition in
Greek comes from the same base word as one of Satan's names,
(Apollyon). See Rev 9:11. This verse should prove that
Judas is not the son of perdition because Judas was revealed
before this book was written by Paul, and there is no
reincarnation. It is appointed unto man once to die, and Judas
has already died. Here just as at the last supper where Satan
himself entered into Judas, (see Joh 13:27), because he
wanted to make sure the job was done right, He feels this is too
important a role for someone else to do. Too important a role
for him to let some underling of his do. See Joh 14:30
where Jesus said the prince of this world would come.
John 14:30
Hereafter I will not talk much with you:
for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
See
Mar. 13:5. See 2 CO 11:13 thru 2Co 11:15,
where Satan is transformed into an angel of light.
For someone to defect from
truth they would have to have been in the truth. Maybe not
enough to escape deception, but none the less Christian. God's
word, (the Bible), is truth.
There are some who claim that
the falling away is the rapture itself. I think they try to prop
up the theory with this. They say that falling away means
"departure". Do the following and see if that is your
understanding of it. Trace the word to the Hebrew word
868. aphistemi, af-is'-tay-mee; from G575 and
G2476; to remove, i.e. (act.) instigate to revolt.; usually
(reflex.) to desist, desert, etc.:--depart, draw (fall) away,
refrain, withdraw self.
You can depart from the True
Jesus, and that is what some or most will do at this time. See
1 John 2:18
where John says that antichrist shall come.
1 John 2:18 Little children,
it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist
shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know
that it is the last time. ........
Note antichrist, singular.
Just how many will be deceived
by this antichrist, (Satan), when he comes in the end time? I
believe it will be approximately the same ratio as in
Genesis 6. At
that time, there were only eight Adamic souls, that did not fall
away. Eight out of how many total persons for that generation? I
don't know, but the numbers would be staggering. Just as the
numbers will be staggering here at the end. As it was in the
beginning, so shall it be at the end. Mankind really hasn't
changed.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore,
having your loins girt[1] about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[1]
4024. perizonnumi, per-id-zone'-noo-mee; from G4012 and
G2224; to gird all around, i.e. (mid. or pass.) to
fasten on one's belt (lit. or fig.):--gird (about,
self).
For some Christians, it's
going to be like being caught with your pants down. Spiritually
of course. When you're caught off guard, it means you are, off
guard.
Mat 22:44
The Lord said unto my Lord,
Sit thou on my right hand,
till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Isa 66:1 Thus saith the LORD,
The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool:
where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place
of my rest?
1 John 3:7 Little children,
let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is
righteous, even as he is righteous.
Rev 13:4 And they
worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:
and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the
beast? who is able to make war with him?
2 Tim 2:14 Of these things put
them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they
strive[1] not about words[2] to no profit, but to the
subverting[3] of the hearers.
1 "STRIVE": 3054.
logomacheo, log-om-akh-eh'-o; from a comp. of G3056 and
G3164; to be disputatious (on trifles):--strive
about words.
2 "WORDS": 3054.
logomacheo, log-om-akh-eh'-o; from a comp. of G3056 and
G3164; to be disputatious (on trifles):--strive
about words.
3 "SUBVERTING": 2692.
katastrophe, kat-as-trof-ay'; from G2690; an overturn ("catastrophe"),
i.e. demolition; fig. apostasy:--overthrow,
subverting.
2690. katastrepho, kat-as-tref'-o;
from G2596 and G4762; to turn upside down, i.e.
upset:--overthrow.
Don't argue over things of
little importance. Be concerned of things like the upcoming
apsostasy.
Ezek 16:38 And I will judge
thee, as women that break wedlock[1] and shed blood are
judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
1 "WEDLOCK":
5003. na'aph, naw-af'; a prim. root; to commit adultery;
fig. to apostatize:--adulterer (-ess), commit
(-ing) adultery, woman that breaketh wedlock.
Dan 8:12 And an host was given
him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and
it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced,
and prospered.
Psa 129:5 Let them all be
confounded[1] and turned[2] back[3] that hate Zion.
1 "CONFOUNDED": 954. buwsh,
boosh; a prim. root; prop. to pale, i.e. by impl. to be
ashamed; also (by impl.) to be disappointed, or
delayed:--(be, make, bring to, cause, put to, with, a-)
shame (-d), be (put to) confounded (-fusion), become dry,
delay, be long.
2 "TURNED": 5472. cuwg,
soog; a prim. root; prop. to flinch, i.e. (by impl.) to go
back, lit. (to retreat) or fig. (to apostatize):--backslider,
drive, go back, turn (away, back).
3 "BACK": 268. 'achowr,
aw-khore'; or (short.) 'achor, aw-khore'; from H299;
the hinder part; hence (adv.) behind, backward; also (as
facing north) the West:--after (-ward), back (part, -side,
-ward), hereafter, (be-) hind (-er part), time to come,
without.
299. 'Achiyra', akh-ee-rah';
from H251 and H7451; brother of wrong; Achira,
an Isr.:--Ahira.
2 Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth
himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped[1]; so that
he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is
God.
1 "WORSHIPPED": 4574.
sebasma, seb'-as-mah; from G4573; something adored, i.e.
an object of worship (god, altar,
etc.):--devotion, that is worshipped.
Acts 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your
devotions[1], I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE
UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship,
him declare I unto you.
1
"DEVOTIONS": 4574. sebasma, seb'-as-mah; from G4573;
something adored, i.e. an object of worship
(god, altar, etc.):--devotion, that is worshipped.
Lam 4:12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the
world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
See Psa 48:2 where it states that this is God's place. See
Isa 14:13-14, where Satan claims he will sit here. Also see
Ezekiel 28:2. See 2 Co 11:14. See Rev. 21:22
where the Lamb and God are the temple.
Psa 48:2 Beautiful for
situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the
sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said
in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my
throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of
the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above
the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Ezek 28:2 Son of man, say unto
the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine
heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in
the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a
man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of
God:
2 Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for
Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple
therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple
of it.
Dan 11:36 And the king shall
do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and
magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous
things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the
indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall
be done.
My thoughts: The scattering of God's people through-out the world: God Knew in advance that there
would be a world wide population explosion, so he dispersed his
people throughout the world, to ready the world, and to combat
the fiery darts of Satan, when he arrives on this earth. Just
like a game of cards, for God's plan to work, he must allow
Satan to play his hand, right up to the very end of this flesh
age. Here Satan is playing his final hand in the flesh age. He
has one more opportunity at the end of the thousand year reign.
1 Cor 10:11 Now all these
things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written
for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
The big difference between the
end of days, and back then. Let's take in the days of Jeremiah,
he was warning Judah that the they were going into captivity.
The king of Babylon was coming. False prophets of that day were
stating, it's not going to happen. Now, the prophets,
(preachers, & teachers), are saying, terrible things are going
to happen alright. All hell's going to break loose, but don't
worry, we that are holier than thou, are going to be gone, taken
out of here, just in the nick of time, in the rapture. A
dangerous belief, for those that are here, as the end of time
approaches.
Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking
him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms
of the world in a moment of time.
Luke 4:6 And the devil said
unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of
them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I
give it.
Luke 4:7 If thou therefore
wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Don't you remember?
2 Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that,
when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2 Th 2:6 And now ye know what
withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2 Th 2:7 For the mystery of
iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth[1] will let,
until he be taken out of the way.
1
"LETTETH": 2722. katecho, kat-ekh'-o; from G2596 and
G2192; to hold down (fast), in various applications (lit.
or fig.):--have, hold (fast), keep (in memory), let, X
make toward, possess, retain, seize on, stay, take,
withhold.
Some claim this is the rapture, the
Church being taken out here. How silly.
The brightness of His coming
2 Th 2:8 And then shall that
Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of
his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of
Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the
LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of
knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Isa 11:3 And shall make him of
quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not
judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the
hearing of his ears:
Isa 11:4 But with
righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity
for the meek of the earth: and he shall
smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath
of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
The
coming of Jesus is after the working of Satan
I want to insert 2 Th 2:8
once again
2 Th 2:8 And then shall that
Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness
of HIS coming:
.... His coming is Jesus.
2 Th 2:9 Even him, whose
coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and
lying wonders,
The Even him is
Jesus.
See Revelation 13:13, for a
little description of some of Satan's powers.
2 Th 2:10 And with all
deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish[1]; because
they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
1
"PERISH": 622. apollumi, ap-ol'-loo-mee; from G575 and
the base of G3639; to destroy fully (reflex. to
perish, or lose), lit. or fig.:--destroy, die, lose, mar,
perish.
Strong delusion
2 Th 2:11 And for this cause God
shall send them strong[1] delusion[2], that they should believe a
lie[3]:
1
"STRONG": 1753. energeia, en-erg'-i-ah; from G1756;
efficiency ("energy"):--operation, strong, (effectual) working.
2
"DELUSION": 4106. plane, plan'-ay; fem. of G4108
(as abstr.); obj. fraudulence; subj. a straying from
orthodoxy or piety:--deceit, to deceive, delusion,
error.
4108.
planos, plan'-os; of uncert. affin.; roving (as a tramp),
i.e. (by impl.) an impostor or misleader:--deceiver,
seducing. ..... Satan is the
imposter.
3
"LIE": 5579. pseudos, psyoo'-dos; from G5574; a
falsehood:--lie, lying.
5574. pseudomai,
psyoo'-dom-ahee; mid. of an appar. prim. verb; to utter an
untruth or attempt to deceive by falsehood:--falsely,
lie.
And for this cause, (people following Satan), will God send
STRONG DELUSION. Note the Greek meaning of the words strong and
delusion. Trace the word delusion to it's prime. God is going to
allow those, who have not studied to show themselves approved,
to fall for Satan's lies when he appears on the earth after
Michael boots him and his angels from heaven. See Rev 12:9.
Note delusion. One of the meanings is an
impostor or misleader:--deceiver.
Mat 13:14
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of
Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not
understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Isa 6:9 And he said, Go, and
tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye
indeed, but perceive not.
Rom 11:8 (According as it is
written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that
they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto
this day.
Hab 1:5 Behold ye among the
heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work
a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be
told you.
Hab 2:2 And the LORD answered
me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables,
that he may run that readeth it.
Hab 2:3 For the vision is
yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and
not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will
surely come, it will not tarry.
For the end time? What work
will this be? Satan will be here prior to Jesus' return. That,
most Christians don't seem to believe. It's sure easy for people
to be fooled. As in Habakkuk 2:3,
this happens at an appointed time. At the end.
2 Tim 4:4 And they shall turn
away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Th 2:12 That they all might be
damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness.
2 Th 2:13 But we are bound to give
thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because
God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through
sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
2 Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you
by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
Stand fast and hold to the
things we've been taught
2 Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren,
stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught,
whether by word, or our epistle.
Not
traditions of man, but by the teachings of Paul of Jesus Christ.
2 Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus
Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and
hath given us everlasting[1] consolation and good hope
through grace,
1
"EVERLASTING": 166. aionios, ahee-o'-nee-os; from G165;
perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as
well):--eternal, for ever, everlasting, world (began).
2 Th 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and
stablish[1] you in every good word and work.
1
"STABLISH": 4741. sterizo, stay-rid'-zo; from a presumed
der. of G2476 (like G4731); to set fast, i.e. (lit.) to turn
resolutely in a certain direction, or (fig.) to confirm:--fix,
(e-) stablish, stedfastly set, strengthen.
What good word and work? God's. Reminds me of Isaiah
40:31.
Isa 40:31 But they that wait
upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall
mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
Pray for us
2 Th 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray
for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and
be glorified, even as it is with you:
Not all men have
faith
2 Th 3:2 And that we may be
delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have
not faith.
2 Th 3:3 But the Lord is faithful,
who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2 Th 3:4 And we have confidence in
the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which
we command you.
Be cheerful, and wait
patiently, for the
return of Jesus Christ
2 Th 3:5 And the Lord direct your
hearts[1] into the love of God, and into the patient[2] waiting for

"HEARTS": 2588. kardia, kar-dee'-ah; prol. from a prim.
kar (Lat. cor, "heart"); the heart, i.e. (fig.) the thoughts
or feelings (mind); also (by anal.) the
middle:--(+ broken-) heart (-ed).
2
"PATIENT": 5281. hupomone, hoop-om-on-ay'; from G5278;
cheerful (or hopeful) endurance,
constancy:--enduring, patience, patient continuance (waiting).
Be cheerful while we wait with
patience.
Luke 21:19
In your patience possess ye your souls.
Disorderly conduct
2 Th 3:6 Now we command you,
brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw
yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after
the tradition which he received of us.
This verse and the next two tells us
how to treat someone that doesn't work. Too lazy to work.
2 Th 3:7 For yourselves know how
ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among
you;
Paul set a good example to the
Thessalonians.
2 Th 3:8 Neither did we eat any
man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night
and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
Paul worked and didn't charge any money
for doing the Lord's work.
2 Th 3:9 Not because we have not
power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
It probably would have been ok to
receive something, but Paul chose not to. He wanted to make
himself a good example.
If you don't
work, you don't eat
2 Th 3:10 For even when we were
with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither
should he eat.
Pretty good advice.
Busybodies
2 Th 3:11 For we hear that there
are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but
are busybodies.
Seen anybody like this lately?
2 Th 3:12 Now them that are such
we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness
they work, and eat their own bread.
Note, they're to eat their own bread
and not some one else's.
2 Th 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not
weary in well doing.
If anyone doesn't
obey this letter
2 Th 3:14 And if any man obey not
our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with
him, that he may be ashamed.
2 Th 3:15 Yet count him not
as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
1 John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and
walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because
that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his
brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal
life abiding in him.
2 Th 3:16 Now the Lord of peace
himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with
you all.
2 Th 3:17 The salutation of Paul
with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
2 Th 3:18 The grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Thanks, for allowing me, to share this with you. Remember, to
always,
study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun
profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more
ungodliness.
