Easy-Out
Easy out. E-e-e-e-z out. Everyone is looking
for an easy out. An easy way out for something. Most everything that requires a
little effort. O! Lord, give me an easy way out. The Bible has some stories about
what happens when someone decides to take a short cut. The easy way out.
Some who tried to take the easy out.
Let's start with Jonah.
Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the
son of Amittai, saying,
Jonah 1:2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their
wickedness is come up before me.
Jonah 1:3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and
went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof,
and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
Jonah 1:4 But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty
tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
Jonah 1:5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast
forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was
gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.
Jonah 1:6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O
sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish
not.
Jonah 1:7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may
know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon
Jonah.
Jonah 1:8 Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is
upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of
what people art thou?
Jonah 1:9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven,
which hath made the sea and the dry land.
Jonah 1:10 Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done
this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told
them.
Jonah 1:11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm
unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.
Jonah 1:12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall
the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.
Jonah 1:13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not:
for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.
Jonah 1:14 Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we
beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood:
for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.
Jonah 1:15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased
from her raging.
Jonah 1:16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the
LORD, and made vows.
Jonah 1:17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in
the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
What did God tell Jonah to do, and what did, Jonah do?
If you don't do it God's way, you pay. You can't get away from God. When He tells you to
do a thing, be a good soldier and do it. Don't complain. God spoke directly to Jonah, and Jonah disobeyed. God speaks directly to
us through His word. He
expects us to obey.
Moses
Num 20:7 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Num 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy
brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth
his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give
the congregation and their beasts drink.
Num 20:9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
Num 20:10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he
said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
Num 20:11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice:
and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
Num 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to
sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this
congregation into the land which I have given them.
Now Moses it appears was God's right hand man.
The closer you are to God, the more He expects from you. You're going to do things
His way, or pay the price. It appears to me that it took more effort to strike the
rock twice, than to just speak to it. Be careful doing things your way.
Balaam
Num 22:4 And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now
shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass
of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.
Num 22:5 He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by
the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there
is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they
abide over against me:
Num 22:6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty
for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them
out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou
cursest is cursed.
Num 22:7 And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of
divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of
Balak.
Num 22:8 And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again,
as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.
Num 22:9 And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee?
Num 22:10 And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent
unto me, saying,
Num 22:11 Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the
earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive
them out.
Num 22:12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse
the people: for they are blessed.
Num 22:13 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you
into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.
Num 22:14 And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam
refuseth to come with us.
Num 22:15 And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they.
Num 22:16 And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor,
Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:
Num 22:17 For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou
sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.
Num 22:18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give
me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to
do less or more.
Num 22:19 Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what
the LORD will say unto me more.
Num 22:20 And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call
thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that
shalt thou do.
Num 22:21 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the
princes of Moab.
Num 22:22 And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood
in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two
servants were with him.
Num 22:23 And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn
in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and
Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.
Num 22:24 But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on
this side, and a wall on that side.
Num 22:25 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall,
and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again.
Num 22:26 And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was
no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
Num 22:27 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and
Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.
Num 22:28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have
I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
Num 22:29 And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were
a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
Num 22:30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden
ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said,
Nay.
Num 22:31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD
standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and
fell flat on his face.
Num 22:32 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass
these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse
before me:
Num 22:33 And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had
turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.
Here again, a man of God, disobeying God. We have
a phrase today, dumb ass. Here is one ass that wasn't so dumb. A whole lot
smarter than Balaam. Now some men
of God who did not take the Easy Out.
Daniel in a den of lions.
Dan 6:3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the
presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to
set him over the whole realm.
Dan 6:4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel
concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was
faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
Dan 6:5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except
we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
Dan 6:6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus
unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
Dan 6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the
counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and
to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty
days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
Dan 6:8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed,
according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
Dan 6:9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
Dan 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and
his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three
times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Dan 6:11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication
before his God.
Dan 6:12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree;
Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or
man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The
king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and
Persians, which altereth not.
Dan 6:13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the
children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou
hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
Dan 6:14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and
set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun
to deliver him.
Dan 6:15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king,
that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king
establisheth may be changed.
Dan 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of
lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually,
he will deliver thee.
Dan 6:17 And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king
sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might
not be changed concerning Daniel.
Dan 6:18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were
instruments of music brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
Dan 6:19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den
of lions.
Dan 6:20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and
the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom
thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
Dan 6:21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
Dan 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not
hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O
king, have I done no hurt.
When Satan comes, wanting you to worship him,
be a Daniel. Stand in there for God. He will never let you down. God will not pluck
you out of the situation. He will give you the strength to go through it. It will be
like this in the end, when Satan and his angels are here. The exception is it will be
mainly mental. With Daniel and others, their flesh lives were at stake. With Satan,
he is after your soul.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
Dan 3:11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be
cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
Dan 3:12 There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of
Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee:
they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Dan 3:13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
Dan 3:14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
Dan 3:15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute,
harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship
the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour
into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you
out of my hands?
Dan 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O
Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
Dan 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery
furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Dan 3:18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor
worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Dan 3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed
against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they
should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
Dan 3:20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
Dan 3:21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and
their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Dan 3:22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding
hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Dan 3:23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the
midst of the burning fiery furnace.
Dan 3:24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and
said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?
They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the
fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Dan 3:26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and
spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come
forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of
the fire.
Dan 3:27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being
gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an
hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had
passed on them.
Dan 3:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him,
and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve
nor worship any god, except their own God.
Dan 3:29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak
any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in
pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that
can deliver after this sort.
When Satan shows up, and things get a little
hot, (mentally and spiritually), just think about these three, and how God took care of them. The next few
verses show that all these things
that we have studied up till now, happened as examples for us in the end time. To let
us know what we are in for spiritually, when Satan arrives pretending to be Jesus.
1 Cor 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye
should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed
through the sea;
1 Cor 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1 Cor 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1 Cor 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual
Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
1 Cor 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in
the wilderness.
1 Cor 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after
evil things, as they also lusted.
1 Cor 10:7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people
sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1 Cor 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one
day three and twenty thousand.
1 Cor 10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed
of serpents.
1 Cor 10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the
destroyer.
1 Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written
for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
1 Cor 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is
faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with
the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
What about the end time?
There will be no easy out for us in the end
time. We will go through the tribulation of Satan. That one hour of temptation
spoken of in Revelation 3:11. Just knowing Satan comes before Jesus, keeps it from
being tempting to us. The way we make it through the temptation is
like the three Hebrew boys in the furnace, and Daniel in a den of lions. With Jesus.
The real one. Jesus himself. Some
of what Jesus said of His coming.
Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept
the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall
come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Mark 13:19 For in those days
shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God
created unto this time, neither shall be.
Mark 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no
flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened
the days.
Mark 13:21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is
Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and
shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Mark 13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all
things.
Mark 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the
sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
Mark 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that
are in heaven shall be shaken.
Luke 10:18 And he said unto them,
I beheld Satan as lightning[1] fall from heaven.
796. astrape, as-trap-ay';
from G797; lightning; by anal. glare:--lightning, bright shining.
797. astrapto, as-trap'-to; prob. from G792; to flash as lightning:--lighten, shine.
792. aster, as-tare'; prob. from the base of G4766; a star (as strown over the sky),
lit. or fig.:--star
2 Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan
himself is transformed into an angel of light.
The blue portion, I inserted
for emphasis.
Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in
the clouds with great power and glory.
Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather
together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the
uttermost part of heaven. Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to
me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
When Satan comes, (first), most will
probably bow and confess, but not all. No one, will have to tell you that Jesus is
here. When He comes, every knee will bow and tongue will be more than anxious to confess.
When the truth sets in, things will look a whole lot different. One problem. It's
too late. Our flesh will immediately roll away and we will be standing in
spiritual bodies, (see Zec 14. Read the whole chapter). Jesus doesn't come until the last trump, (See 1 Co 15:52). That is
the seventh trump and it doesn't sound until Revelation 11:15 just after the two
dead witness, (murdered by Satan), rise from the streets of Jerusalem. For those
that think they're taking an early out,
in 1Th 4:16 - 17, that trumpet, (trump), is the last one also. The
seventh and last trump. The same as in 1st. Corinthians 15:52. The apostle Paul was describing the coming of Christ to
both the
Thessalonians, and the Corinthians. Paul had to immediately write
another letter to the Thessalonians, (2nd. Thessalonians), to clear up their
misunderstanding of 1Th 4:16 - 17. Here is a portion of what he wrote in order
to clarify to coming of Christ.
2 Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by
word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2 Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there
come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2 Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is
worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is
God.
2 Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2 Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2 Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will
let, until he be taken out of the way.
2 Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2 Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs
and lying wonders,

Click here to go there. There is no
easy out. No
flying out of here, as is so commonly taught. I am going to end with the next few
verses. It is God talking, and He gives his feelings on the subject. We'll start with
Ezekiel 13:17. Please read all of chapter 13, especially prior to what is below. You
will see that it sets the time frame to the end generation.
Ezek 13:17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face
against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy
thou against them,
Ezek 13:18 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all
armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt
the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
Ezek 13:19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces
of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should
not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
Ezek 13:20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against
your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them
from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
Ezek 13:21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and
they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Ezek 13:22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have
not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from
his wicked way, by promising him life:
Ezek 13:23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will
deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Thanks, for allowing me, to share
this with you. Remember, to always, study to show thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto
more ungodliness.
